Meetings
Beekeepers of Middle Tennessee (BMT) meet every second Thursday evening
from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Agricultural Expo Center in Franklin, TN.
The Ag Expo Center if located just off of Interstate 65 at Exit #61.
Programs are targeted to provide attendees with timely and factual
information on beekeeping techniques and practices. Past programs
include basic equipment repair and assembly, chemicals/drugs to treat
various honeybee diseases, wax crafts, honey tasting, plant and nectar
sources, installing packages and queens and maintaining a glass observation
hive. Every meeting allows time for questions and answers, industry updates
and specific bee tasks that need to be focused on during the meeting month.
BMT has a diverse group of attendees and members, some with over 25 years of
experience in keeping honeybees. Many of the attendees are beginners or have
only kept honeybees less than 5 years. Several attendees do not keep honeybees
but enjoy the hobby and need additional knowledge about honeybees for
pollination purposes. Anyone with a desire to learn more about honeybees
is invited to attend. A map to the meeting location is provided below.
